No specific experience at SYD per se, but when I was furnishing my apartment I took advantage of the strong Singapore Dollar and have flown in J on SQ lots of times with odd-sized boxes (ex JFK, MEL, AKL, LHR) and have never been given any grief for it. Even ex MIA on LX, when I brought home a telescope
