Ha, just heard from one of my friends on rainy Thursday; her mom is a driver wife, one of the old timers now passed, and she said they'd wave to us Sunday down in row 1, turn one, since her mom gets dibs on tickets every year.
TBH, I miss the old days before everything got all business and sanitized and local open wheel guys could live the dream. The local kids on the ranch next to my moms got that chance and one of the brothers won Indy two years in a row, then got killed the next year. Ironically, it was my friend's mom's husband whose car Bill hit before going airborne to his death. That's racing though. No big sponsors and corporate deals, just racers.
When I caught glimpse of AJ on Saturday, yeah, the old days. Hope everyone stays safe and it's a close and clean race.
