If you want to find out what the charge was for before you lodge a complaint email [email protected] with your rental agreement number (it'll be shown on the £20 charge on your AMEX Card as "RA# 12345xxx" in the transaction description).

I don't think this is the case but it if the charge looks like a multiple of ZAR280 it's the administration charge for a speeding fine.
