Looking for views on how ANA C class compares to JAL C from SFO to Japan. It seems both offer fully lie flat seats with direct aisle access. JAL has a much reduced menu on the SFO-HND flights, the justification being the lateness of the departures. That said, does one airline get the nod on quality of food/wine. I have had issues with overly heated cabins on JAL, but last trip seemingly solved it by talking with the purser at the start of the flight and setting the temp of our zone to a lower temperature. Yes to the hot cabin issue, but to be fair have also noticed this recently on SAS and KLM. My recent flight on ANA in J, the food was atrocious (a panini for breakfast in J). There was also the Japanese choice, but it also looked uninspiring ! I was offered hot noodles (Ippudo Hakata Ramen) to compensate, but not interested at 4;30 AM ! Sad they have cut back on their food and drink so much!
Other than that the cabin/lavs remain sparkling clean. JAL, I found the food better, the cabin was also quite warm ! I would go with the flight that best suits, then who serves food and drink to your liking, menus are available online. For me I can sleep well in both JL and NH seats !
