The JAL night flight is not a comparable for food/beverage. Nor is the ANA LAX flight.

The two compare much more interestingly for daytime flights with full service.

ANA has dropped the ball dramatically in food quality of late and JAL has taken up the slack and done very well.

Wine in ANA should be better as the guy picking it is a Master of Wine (and a nice guy to boot) . Unfortunately the company is restricting his selections and what they offer is good but does not stand out.

Wine on JAL is one of those things they throw a lot of money at and end up offering a fun list on most routes. It is even more fun in F but C gets a good drop too.

The bed on JAL is superior in almost every way save absolute privacy as with the ANA seat.
