No, I'm not. I'm not sure where that has come from, as my suggestion - and a later post - was angling specifically at encouraging people to pay for CE if they want their family to get into the lounge!

Perhaps you're one of those who believes that CE is not worth paying for.
No, I'm not. It's usually very good value. I fly it a lot, even as a Gold: http://ba97.com/report.asp?handle=paul4040

For the avoidance of doubt, in line with other posters, my thoughts are as follows:

1) There are baby changing facilities in T5A, in fact, directly beneath Galleries North. You don't need to enter the lounge to change a nappy.

2) Having two guests in a lounge is a Gold Guest List benefit. People are arguing that an ordinary Gold should have the benefits of a higher tier. A Silver wanting access, on their own, to the Flounge would be told in no uncertain terms that this was for Golds only.

3) If lounge access is essential for the whole family and the rules about your status don't permit it, then buy the proper fare.

4) BA.com simply states that as a Gold you can take "a guest" in. It does not ever imply that you can take a baby in and not have him or her counted as a guest. It's an unwritten rule from the customer's perspective.

5) Discretion is fine, and if a lounge agent wants to bend those rules, then that's also fine. I won't be complaining. A child here or there in the lounge is no skin off my nose. But equally, if you ask for something to which you aren't entitled, don't be surprised if the response is a no, and a clarification of what you are entitled to.

None of this is directed at the OP btw, but rather refers to the meta-discussion that has happened since.
