It's a personal thing, but when we go travelling we like a high level of certainty. I wouldn't be very happy with aspects of our travels involving "it might happen, and then again it might not". I will, of course, make an exception where upgrades are concerned
Anyway, since BA/BAEC seem incapable of communicating accurately in many different areas, I would still have doubts about the sufccessfuhl and accurate application of your idea.
