I called AmEx about a week or two ago to ask about moving the CL from my Costco card to another AmEx, but was told the deadline had passed on 3/29. When I complained about losing the CL, the rep said that many were being converted over to Blue Cash something, but in the official communications we've received, there was no mention of such an offer. Annual spend on the Costco card was $7K last year, but it has been higher in the past. Is the Blue Cash conversion dependent on annual spend?
Update: I snail-mailed AmEx a letter about a week ago regarding this. The gist of it was, we've been good customers for more than a decade, where's the love? The opportunity to move the CL conveniently ended the day before the official letter was dated. I received a reply today (by email), essentially cutting and pasting the same corporate boiler-plate we got in the letter. Oh well...
I transferred $25k of my $25.5k limit to another Amex when they'd told me the Coscto card was simply being discontinued (before the Citi announcement that we'd all get new cards and everything would transfer seamlessly). I just received my new Costco Citi card in the mail today and sure enough, only the $500 CL transferred to the Citi and not the previous $25.5k limit I had before moving it to the Blue Cash.
