Can I turn 1 round trip into 2 with connections?
Silly question...

There is a promo for me right now for fast track to platinum status. 1 round trip within 6 months gets silver, 3 round trips gets gold, and 6 round trips gets platinum.

Now let's say if I book a flight from DFW > DTW > SFO and back... that would normally be 1 round trip. But could I split it up and book DFW > DTW, and then DTW > SFO separately so that they are technically separate trips?
