UA at LGB to DFW and IAH

Saw two UA 737-900s today at LGB. Found out that one went to Dallas, the other to Houston. They left 10-15 minutes apart, flights UA2211 and UA2216. Inbound for both (2247 and 2254) from LAX.

...? Were they charter flights?
