F is wide open. GA doesn't bother to clear upgrades.
Flying PHL-SYR tonight. I was #3 on the list and the agent at the Club advised that F was wide open and to expect an upgrade.

Agent starts boarding with no mention of clearing upgrades. I followed the F boarding group and raised the question, at that point she did go ahead and clear me. The first two people on the list were never cleared ( not sure why they never said anything).

I'm not sure why this would happen. Shouldn't the GA be doing this before boarding begins?
