I don't know, maybe it's me getting old and cranky but it's over $500 a year for me to use the airport plus what they charge in fees and taxes. The only other airport that I'm aware of is Boston but there is a route that you could use with no tolls.
DFW Airport is not funded by any tax revenue- their operational and capital expenses (i.e. TRIP) are covered entirely by landing fees, concessions, and parking revenue. If they eliminated the entry fee, they'd have to increase something else to make up for the lost revenue.
