Good question. I definitely try to use my miles more efficiently, but the 77W was not part of the "sale" on our dates. Plus I do have a healthy bank of miles (5+ million) and add to the balance each month from business charges, so I can somewhat rationalize the ridiculous number of miles for the best premium product in the skies. Other F trips this year are on LH and BA so I keep telling myself that those flights do bring my average cost down... I guess.
