If it makes you feel any better, you're not missing that much. The delta one check in area has a little seating area with drinks and snacks that comes in handy if you have a super early departure and the sky club isn't open yet. That's about the only real advantage other than the warm fuzzy feeling you get for having a super special VIP entry.
And I agree that a domestic first ticket isn't worth 3x economy. Which is why I wouldn't have paid it. Curious why you did?
