I have had a chance to explore the options of J AKL-HKG in June. It looks like it will be in 1-2-1 config. I tried to look at the trip reports, only saw the AKL-PVG route.

1. Did they have the same 772 J config before PVG was changed to be using 787 this year? What's the best seat to be on 772 J?

2. By looking at the pictures of trip report(AKL-PVG), it looked like the seats were quite old. Was there a retrofit of the J seat?

I could also look into other Asian cities, but figured you know much more than me.

Should be the first time I set on NZ aircraft if I choose them, which is highly likely. Been hearing the good stories of LAX-LHR, but that is 773 J cabin, not 772
