You can change passport details at any time. When you check in the name on your ticket has to resemble the one in your passport. When I say "resemble" I have had airlines allow variations such as FirstName/LastName, LastName/FirstName and even half a (hyphenated) surname so Anthony/Armstrong-Jones was allowed to check in with a passport in the name of Anthony/Jones
