It always amuses me when we need to de-ice planes in Florida. Doesn't happen often, certainly not often enough to have de-icing equipment, but it does happen.

The most common way to de-ice the planes is to push them out on the apron with tugs, nose facing the sun. I've also heard that someone tried backing up another jet nearby and using the sun + jet exhaust to help melt the thin layer of frost/ice.
