Best of luck to you. Clearly you are not accepting of the well proven premise, that when it comes to engaging in renting a car, it's a "us vs. them" mindset. They are out to screw you, intentionally, negligently or just being plain stupid. Doing anything out of the ordinary magnifies the risk AND perhaps more importantly regardless of the protection and coverage you think you have, the
inconvenience to you that is caused by their actions.
From Hertz to Enterprise, same pathetic situation, except on the lower end, the risk is magnified even more.
Your ultimate experience may be just fine, which proves nothing and doesn't give a path of comfort to others, except you got lucky. And I say that based on the number of folks who rent cars every day who get screwed intentionally or accidently.
Be defensive or get ready to embrace
inconvenience in all of its color.
