My first time, not only did it not matter, but when I arrived at the hotel early they told me my room wasn't ready and I couldn't switch it. When I stopped back later, they then gave me a different room anyway, on a lower floor.

The 2nd time I used it at a different hotel, they gave me the room I selected.
