It clearly says that you are only supposed to receive benefits when flying DL operated flights. You will not get lounge access in AMS and I suspect that you won't get the elite baggage allowance either. My guess is that you won't be able to use a lounge in ATL either, but YMMV.
You can always buy entry to a SC (but not the KLM lounges in AMS), but this can be expensive. If you have PP, go to The Club in ATL F.

I'm not at all bothered if I get knocked back from the lounge at ATL on AMS, there's a lovely little bar just on the left as you approach the gates in the ATL international terminal and I quite like it there. I would like the extra luggage allowance though but I don't fancy getting hit for 80 bucks (I think) each way. I need to dig about a bit further.
I've updated my booking with the Delta FF number so I'll check tomorrow if anything has changed.
