Well the BBC contacted BA and got a dismissive "complete speculation" quote from them. That's usually code for "we haven't heard about it, but we're not sure what our bosses are thinking about". If there was an active investigation going on, with the Media Team informed, they would have given a different answer. With the exception of the Daily Mail, which actually has a good record of making follow-up checks, the other reports seem to be regurgitated versions of the initial reports.

BA need to do better than that, unless their media team have no idea what they're doing, they must be vaguely aware how this would play out in the press
