If you look at your booking on KLM, is it reflecting a SkyTeam Elite+ status? If not, add your FF number to the account and see if it does. Secondly, call KLM. If it is not reflecting in the reservation, it is probably not carrying over to KL.
My response was based on the fact that some elite challenges specify that the temporary elite status only applies to the company offering the challenge and does not convey any partner benefits. I know of no way to know whether the OP's challenge is of this sort short of encouraging him/her to read the rules associated with his/her particular challenge "contract." I'm sorry that my crystal ball isn't working for this.
It's generally a wise practice to read the details of any such contract.
