Two of my friend's had tickets booked on Turkish Airlines from the US but one of them has sadly passed away before the flight. His wife is trying to get a refund but has been told that she will need to present a death certificate in person at the Florida office which is about 1000 miles from where she lives.

This surely can't be true. Any help with this difficult situation would be greatly appreciated.
