American Airlines chose to kick me off a flight because they overbooked it. I would have missed my son's graduation except for the incredible generosity of a random stranger who gave me his seat and I am forever grateful. He gave up getting home to his family for me. They didn't offer anyone tickets or cash just picked 3 random people (lied about how we were picked) and no apologies.
While I understand that this is a very unfortunate situation I can't believe that there was never a single announcement for volunteers.
Also there would have been a very large compensation and alternative flights for those IDB.
But not hearing from the horses mouth makes me skeptical about the alligations.
