It's ONLY buying vouchers as I understand it. That's certainly how these deals have worked in the past. You need to go to a redemption centre (one in Causeway Bay, one on the dark side somewhere) and buy the vouchers there using your HSBC credit card and $50 of reward dollars (so $8950 on the card if you buy the full $10k of vouchers).
