I think that would work possibly if you had a wired connection to the internet and then set up your wireless as a hotspot.

The problem I have is that most hotels you connect to the internet using WiFi, and then you cannot (or at least, I cannot figure out how to) share that same connection creating another SSID. Connectify solved the problem by being more versatile I think than the built in sharing.

I would love to be shown I was wrong.
