I'd second the suggestions of MEX, SAN, or PHX. Also check MIA which often (not always) has the best prices from Mexico airports even if it is not closest to many.
As CWS mentions LAX immigration can be horrid (admittedly MIA can also be bad but a bit less) even for global entry people.
