It's not an aspirational product for people who only fly premium.
I'm fortunate that my base is one where AF P is regularly available to the destinations I frequent, (mostly US East coast,) for a about €3700. I've almost bailed on BA for it before, but have been kept satiated by the miles and perks. If I were to drop to bog standard Gold, though, it becomes a lot less interesting.
Of course, I'm about 9,000 TPs from LTG, so no final decisions have yet been made.
