But.......it is not an aspirational product. It's a cheap way to fly in relative comfort, and with the imminent arrival of a first child my travel patterns are about to go from 12-15 long haul trips per year to maybe 5. Having mapped out what that means in terms of likely status earning and how it will impact my ability to use instruments to stay in the F cabin cheaply, I'm left with a decision on who to fly since I wil now likely have to spend €4K or so for my F tickets. Chances are, it's going to be AF La Premiere, given their ground services and catering standards. Truthfully, if presented with AF P at €4K, and BA F at €3K, I'll spend the money for the more pleasant experience. At €2K, I can justify the hassles and disappointments of BA on a cost basis, but this is what they have trained me to value their product at. I don't know how much they care about pax who will only fly premium but not at full fare, but I can imagine there are many of us who feel the same way. It's an okay product, but only if it's cheap.
YMMV but I have seen someone who invariably flies Y wowed when they flew BA F. AF P looks really good but the times I have looked at prices they have been much more than Euro 4k return.
