Clicking on your first link, it's difficult to know what I'm looking at. But I'm familiar with the park on your second link, and you say the trailhead (stairs?) is easy to find from there. So I'll go with that. It looks like a fabulous place to go when it's sunny and clear.
This view is better, the climb starts from the left end of the railing, but you need to be inside.

But getting up from there requires climbing using your hands. If you are not up to that, better go by the stairs (up and down).
