I am older than Hiddy but not as 'mature' as T8191.
I have flown BA since before it existed - on BEA and BOAC. Over the years I have flown a lot of business and first. (and economy!)
Until comparatively recently, the service in first and business was
always superb.
My last 3 First flights have been absolutely dreadful. Service in economy used to be better than this! I used to like my slippers and pyjamas being at my seat when I boarded. When this stopped, at least they were offered. Now we have to go begging for them. Time and time again the second meal is not served, or even offered. When I have asked for it, I have had to ask for each component, and on two occasions never did get the whole thing. It has been many flights since I was offered chocolates in F. This isn't just happening to me - this is happening to the whole cabin.
None of the food that I have eaten in F has been particularly good. I think the food in CW is better than F food now. I enjoyed a fruit plate but everything else has varied from blah to downright nasty.
When it comes to service, the crew on two of the flights have just disappeared after the first meal service. I don't think I should have to clear the last bits and pieces from my table and take them to the galley myself.
I have also had a very rude, passive aggressive purser - I'm still considering submitting a complaint about her. If I do, it will be the first time that I have ever submitted a complaint to BA about cabin crew.
It's just sad that this is the best that BA can do in their highest class of travel.
