Boston Hotel Union Members Authorize Strike
Members of Boston's hotel union, whose contract is up at the end of the month, voted Nov. 19 to authorize a strike if no agreement is reached between the union's contract and negotiations committee and nine of the city's major hotels. "We will be organizing and preparing for a strike with the hotels," said Janice Loux, president and business manager of the Boston Hotel Employees and Restaurant Employees Union Local 26.
