We visited the hotel last summer but did not stay overnight there. It is an large, old, but well-renovated facility on the edge of Rocky Mt Natl Park. It is about 40 miles NW of Boulder and about 65 miles NW of Denver.

It is located on a hill just north of the main part of the town of Estes Park with some fantastic views of the mountains. It caters to folks who enjoy the myths of the hotel being haunted, and they give frequent tours of the place with lots of ghost stories.

We were glad we stopped and looked around for a couple of hours. Between the views and the interesting history of the place, I would say it is worth a night's visit if you can get a reasonable rate. If not, stay in Boulder and drive up for the day.
