I just spent the weekend in Denver, and I have to concur with the coolness of the LoDo district.
Every 2nd Saturday of the month for the summer they hold the "Baseball Market" on Larimer between 21st and 22nd. Basically a big ole flea market. About 100 vendors.
About a block up (23rd-ish) and across the street is the Saturday Farmers market. Fresh fruit, veggies, pastries and other food items.
On 22nd and Blake is the Breckenridge Brewery and Grill. Didnt eat there, but they make AWESOME bloody marys.
The
Venice on the Creek program offers punt rides (like a gondola but not) on Cherry Creek that come with historic narrative of the city.
If you decide to rent a car, make a run out to Golden. Besides the Coors Brewery tour, the town has a fun western feel to it. You can drive to the top of lookout mountain, and see Buffalo Bill Cody's gravesite, some spectacular views of Golden, and Denver while the Hang Gliders whizz over your head.
