Just speculating, but my guess is that the route will be serviced by one of the new 787-9s arriving this fall. That plane is supposedly optimized for India/Asia with a relatively dense economy cabin vs. 787-8

I agree that ORD or JFK most likely but interestingly it's 8300 mi range would just make LAX-DEL or even DFW-DEL possible (although very close to edge) and that would be the only non-stop service available on those routes.
