Delhi isn't all of India. If I take QR or EY, I can get to my destination with one plane change. If I fly AA to DEL, I have to change planes in DEL. There's no difference there.
AA has elderly staff who sleep in the FA rest area for most of the flight (2 or 3 RTs to DEL and the FA is done for the month, so the route was very popular with very senior FAs who got their first choice). I also had to deal with obsessive security theater when leaving DEL. At least the awful slantboard J seats will be gone, but still, AA can only compete by undercutting the ME airlines on price.
