Since BA gives children status in their own right (admittedly a surprising and wonderful thing), why shouldn't they be able to guest? Assuming adult guidance, of course; I'm not talking lounge meet-ups here. :-)
It is actually a condition of lounge access that under 18s are accompanied, because of the self-serve alcohol (CCR excepted). So they would HAVE to guest someone if travelling alone and under 18.
When travelling as a family, I'd imagine this "rule" is relaxed. I'd think the dragons would be unlikely to turn a family away because a minor hold status and one adult doesn't. But I guess it's possible.
Certainly I had no problem guesting my wife into the CCR with my 6yr old's BP recently (I'd already used my guesting privilege) when she happened to be on a SH flight at the same time my daughter and I were travelling LH in F.
