If my carefully planned family lounge-access strategy falls through, because the lounge rulebook has a restriction on guesting that isn't mentioned on the BA website or in EC marketing, I shall be a bit peeved!

Since BA gives children status in their own right (admittedly a surprising and wonderful thing), why shouldn't they be able to guest? Assuming adult guidance, of course; I'm not talking lounge meet-ups here. :-)
