Agreed - LGA would also be my preference. NB that Uber adds an extra $20 to fares between NYC* and New Jersey, so EWR is more expensive to get to than you'd think from the distance alone.
* I struggle to believe it adds the fee to rides from Staten Island, but I can think of no circumstances in which I might be in a position to test that out.
