I have a long trip (MAD-LHR-HKG-SYD) coming up (IB, BA, CX) - the LH sectors being in PY with my partner. I've already UUA'd the return BA HKG-LHR leg to J as I set up a reward availability alert in expertflyer. The booking got split into two (I had to upgrade our tickets separately as there ronly one reward flight available at first) - but they are 'linked' (although I appreciate that may just be a note in the PNR).

There's no reward availability showing on the outbound flight (BA27 on a 777) but I'll have just about enough Avios (120K) to apply the GPR on my own ticket if needed. Can I also apply it to my companion (who's a Blue but in the same Avios HHA)? I appreciate same late reward availability may show up at any time nearer the time (I understand I can cancel the GPR and rebook using regular Avios - bit of a pfaff but doable) - but I'd really prefer to do the overnight flight in J if poss!
