Knowing how "efficient " BAs lost baggage service was when my bags were mishandled and I was told it would be delivered within 2 or 3 days (when I was only there 24hrs) I took a taxi back to the airport to retrieve it on the next flight. Reasonable costs £34 but I lost one receipt which is fair enough so I asked for £17 and they wouldnt refund me that exceptionally after I explained to them how badly I felt let down(a charter flight that had 50 missed bags asked the taxi driver that I was in to send 40 taxis to the airport to deliver luggage so despite the waffling we are very sorry and doing all we can to get your luggage to you when clearly they arent. ) They offered me 5000 avios.. In future if baggage goes astray I will buy the essentials which in this scenario would have been more than £17.
