I'm an AC newbie. Apologies if this question is too simple.

I'm flying with AC from YUL to IST via FRA on one reservation.

The YUL-FRA leg is flown on AC metal (P fare); the FRA-IST leg on LH metal (Y fare). This is supposed to be a "business class" ticket, but at the time of booking the AC site said the LH flight doesn't have business class, so they bumped me down to economy on a Y fare.

Questions:

Does AC consider the FRA-IST leg P or Y? If it's Y, I shouldn't pay a fee to do a same-day airport change on the LH flight; if it is P I should.

By the same token how does my mileage accrual for the whole trip work out? I'm a UA 1K and am crediting these miles into my UA account. Since I bought the ticket directly from AC, UA only cares about fare class.
