There was an article in my neighborhood newspaper about 3 months ago about a family, who lives in my neighborhood, who purchased an apartment in Paris and the work that was involved in doing so. I don't recall which arrondisement they eventually purchased the apartment in, but was shocked at how inexpensive it was, given the housing costs of San Francisco.

It was a great article and admittingly, after reading it and seeing how inexpensive it was to purchase an apartment, I was temped to look into it myself, but given the flight time to Paris from San Francisco, I don't think I could endure the flight more than a couple times a year, which is my current schedule.
