I'm flying into RDU soon and I'd prefer to not have to rush to baggage claim to pick up my golf clubs. Instead I'd like to wait at the bar for my friends to arrive on a separate flight; seems a lot better than spending an hour or two milling around in the arrivals area.

Is it perhaps possible to ask the gate agent at RDU to call down to baggage claim to pull my clubs to the side? Is that a ridiculous request?
