BA did accommodate, the flyer had left significant time to make a non guaranteed connection.
there is no formal policy
I would expect the staff to be as accommodating as possible provided you do not fail the attitude test.
they may re book you, but if rebooked next day I would not expect hotels and other expenses to be covered.
