EU to Africa via IST, at least with all flights on TK, these days usually there is no transit security. But it does not seem to be a guarantee and even if there isn't they do seem to use selective screening for the transit passengers nevertheless.
Doing the reverse, Africa to EU via IST, so far I have always needed to go through transit security.
I would imagine USA to Asia via IST being similar to EU to Africa.
