Stayed here twice now over the last 6 weeks, and thought I would provide a quick summary of our experience. Both stays were for 24-30 hours and were over a Saturday night. My wife is a flight attendant based out of IAD, so I flew over with the kid so she could back her trips up.
I am a diamond with Hyatt and staying over the weekend ends up being a pretty good deal/mileage winner.
This last weekend paid $116 for the night (The other Regency was a lot less, but the location isn't as good if you don't have a vehicle and did not seem to give the 2500 bonus points)
With the Club closed, they give you 2,500 bonus points, plus a coupon for a free appetizer/dessert in the restaurant ($10-15 value) plus we had free breakfast in the restaurant ($50 for a decent buffet for two). I took the 1,000 points instead of $25 bar credit.
So for $130 out the door, we got $63 in food from the restaurant and 3,500 bonus points. Throw in the points for the room and my Hyatt card, it was close to a 5,000 point day, which I can quickly turn into a free night at the new Hyatt Place in Asheville that is running $330 a night.
The hotel itself is very nice. Outside the door is Reston Town Center with a ton of restaurants and shops. An easy stroll out for dinner. Both times, I checked in at Noon, the room was ready and the crib in the room as requested. Staff was very helpful all around. The Lifeguard in the pool was nice, blew up a floaty for my son to try it out. He's 11 months old and the pool is part of the reason we make this trip.
Ended up with a room on the club floor, nice decor, very quiet. The only thing I wish was different was a shuttle every 30 minutes instead of once an hour, but the free shuttle is great.
In my mind, best option for a stay close to IAD, if you don't have a car, want to eat somewhere other than the hotel for dinner and have no desire to head into the city.
