A couple of years ago my wife and I spent 10 days in Paris, staying at the Hotel Parc St. Severin. It is a great location, close to two Metro stations, and a very short walk to Notre Dame. The staff was helpful and spoke English (that was important to us!). We paid about $108 a night, if I remember correctly. The room was typically small, but was kept magnificently clean.
