T8191 - I was about 10 years behind you as far as LHR plane-spotting is concerned.

In the late 60s (between the ages of 12-14) I used to take the train from Southend to Fenchurch Street, the tube from Tower Hill to Hounslow West, and then a bus to LHR for an all day plane-spotting session. Compared to my local airport (SEN) LHR was plane-spotting paradise; my favourites being the former iron-curtain country IL18s coming in to land.

It was during that time that I'm sure I bumped into PUCCI GALORE on her way to work one day . Even back then I thought she looked gorgeous in her uniform . Happy days.

The headline that the Guardian chose for their article - Heathrow airport at 70: from tents to terminals - is remarkably similar to a book I purchased recently; Heathrow From Tents to Terminal 5 (ISBN 978 1 4456 3389 3) by Ian Anderson. It's a good read.
