On this morning's 08.35 LHR-GLA BA1474, the catering was rather different to what would normally be expected on this route for a pre-09.30 departure. All that was available to drink was still water, tea and coffee (absolutely nothing else was available). The only food available was salted crisps -- not even the usual choice of sweet and savoury snack was offered. The chap next to me asked why there was no hot breakfast (as would usually be the case on a departure to Scotland before 09.30) and the (very polite) senior cabin crew member responded with "I'm sorry sir we don't have the necessary catering equipment on this aircraft".

The crew were very friendly and professional, we departed on time (despite the bussed departure) and arrived early thanks to a tailwind. So, no complaints there, but the overall impression was not, IMHO, of a service that was equivalent to the standard BA service.
